Samanta Katz

I was born in Buenos Aires Argentina, a city that still inspires me today. I moved to Canada at age sixteen and since then, the differences between cultures, people, and society have captivated me. My work reflects this vision of the world.

I have a Bachelor of Arts with a major in film that I obtained at the University of Winnipeg, (Manitoba, Canada). I have collaborated as well as directed and edited over ten short films. Photography came naturally after traveling and needing a way to express the feelings I get from the places I see and people I meet. I am a graduate from Prairie View School (Winnipeg, Manitoba), and I hold a diploma in Professional Photography.

I love music. I play the bass guitar and have an old dusty drum set begging for some attention. I spend a lot of my time traveling or planning on traveling (and I like to shoot when I travel). I speak Spanish fluently, and I like to think I can communicate in Italian too.

On my free time I like... Well, I like to shoot some more. I am a proud lomographer with a colourful fun collection of vintage and plastic film cameras.
